What is 4X MMO Strategy
Xterium is a 4X strategy game:
- eXplore — send spy probes, view galaxy map, send expeditions for bonuses
- eXpand — colonize new planets, build moons as extra bases
- eXploit — mine resources (metal, crystal, deuterium), research tech, trade with alliance
- eXterminate — build fleets, attack other planets, defend your own, coordinate ACS attacks
MMO = thousands of real players in one universe, 24/7. Not bots — real people across time zones. While you sleep, resources accumulate, fleets fly, allies defend.

Unlike most games with one server, Xterium offers three parallel universes. One account, three options.
War of Alliances (WoA) — flagship for newbies

Who Xterium is NOT for
Be honest with yourself:
- Want fast results — Xterium isn't for you. Progress takes weeks
- Don't like learning mechanics — you need to understand formulas, otherwise you lose competitiveness
- Want pure solo — nearly impossible on WoA. Classic fits better
- Don't want to learn save-fleet — you'll lose your fleet in month one and quit
Is it hard for a new player?
First week — yes, you need to learn the basics. After that it gets clearer. WoA universe has the best onboarding and newbie protection.
Do I have to pay?
No — fully free. Premium features (stats, auto-recall, cosmetics) are optional and give no combat advantage.
Can I play on phone?
Yes — full iOS and Android apps. Convenient for checking resources anywhere.
How much do I lose if I quit for a month?
A lot — but not everything. Alliance can defend if you warn in advance (vacation mode). Without protection, your planets get raided in a week.
How is it different from OGame?
OGame is the original 2002 engine. Xterium is an improved fork with modern UI, mobile apps, HSL (Hit-Ship Limitation), ACS coordination, quarterly WoA tournaments. Similar gameplay, but Xterium is more active and social.
