Key facts in 30 seconds

  • Before sleep — send fleet on deployment to your colony (8-10 hours)
  • When online — keep fleet «in the air» or on a well-defended planet
  • Never leave the fleet at the main planet overnight
  • Expedition = save-fleet + chance for bonuses
  • Recall returns 100% deuterium if attack didn't arrive — cancel doubtful missions

Why save-fleet — critical for survival

In Xterium, the attacker gets a significant percentage of resources from your destroyed fleet + debris field. If you have a real fleet and go offline undefended — you may find an empty planet the next morning.

It\'s not «if», but «when» — sooner or later you\'ll be attacked. Save-fleet habit is skill #1 for survival.

4 main tactics

1. Deployment — simplest. Send your fleet from the base planet to your own colony on «Deployment» mission. Flight time = sleep time. Cheap on deuterium, no time limit.

2. Expedition — with Expedition Technology you can send fleet to empty sectors. Duration 1-12 hours. Bonus: sometimes find resources, dark matter, new ships. Save + lottery.

3. Attack on a distant target — if there\'s a weak target 30+ galaxies away, attack with small cargos flies many hours. By arrival the attacker is offline. Save + potential profit.

4. Resource transfer to an ally — send ALL resources to an ally on Transport mission. Cargos leave too. Attacker has no reason to hit an «empty» planet.

Действия по шагам

What NOT to do

  1. Leaves fleet at main planet overnight — newbie\'s most common mistake → fleet lost day 7-10 → quits the game
  2. Doesn\'t learn Expedition Technology — expedition = sweet spot between safety and profit
  3. Doesn\'t use recall on a suspect mission — recall returns 100% deuterium if attack didn\'t arrive. Cancel doubtful ops
  4. Saves only the main fleet — forgets recyclers/cargos; they get attacked too
  5. Leaves all resources on the planet — raiders take a significant percentage. Better spend on buildings or send to an ally

How long does deployment protect?

As long as you choose. Min — minutes (short distance), max — days (distant colony). Standard before sleep: 8-10 hours.

What if the attacker tracks my deployment?

If they have Phalanx Sensor — they see exact arrival time. Solution: vary time windows, use expeditions (fleet in a fixed point outside galaxy route).

Why is expedition better than deployment?

Not on your territory → impossible to intercept. Plus loot chance. Downside: expeditions sometimes don't return (risk). Mix both tactics.

Can I save fleet via attack on another player?

Yes — attack on a distant target with small cargos = save + potential loot. Just ensure target is offline and undefended.
